iPhone forced to restart Turn on the iPhone by pressing the side button. To turn off your iPhone, use the Settings app or the side button (or the volume button on certain models).
You can try resetting your iPhone by turning it off and back on if it’s not functioning as it should. Try forcing it to restart if turning it on and off doesn’t resolve the problem.
Turn ON iPhone
- Hold down the side button until you see the Apple logo.
- Switch off your iPhone.
- For iPhones with Face ID, press and hold both the side and either volume button at the same time until sliders display. Then, move the Power Off slider.
- iPhone with the Home button: Slider is dragged after pressing and holding the side button.
- All models: Go to Settings > General > Shut Down, then drag the slider.
